The ups and downs of Charcoal Sellers

Li Guande is the third generation of the "King of Southern Zhejiang". From the age of 16, he followed his father through the mountains and forests of China and made a lot of money by cutting firewood and burning charcoal with his ancestral skills. Some friends also advised him to stop doing the dirty, tired and losing money. However, Li Guande stubbornly thought, "Who breaks through the technical bottleneck, who can carry out the industry's bull's ear!"

In fact, the key of carbon making process lies in drying and sticking. At that time, advanced equipment in Japan could use energy consumption of 22 kilowatts per hour to produce 100 kilograms of machine-made carbon with water content of 4%-6% and density of 700-900 kilograms/cubic meters.

Through his on-site calculation, it was found that Li Guande's rod-making machine could use 11 kilowatts of energy consumption per hour to produce mechanical charcoal with a water content of 250 kg less than 1% and a density of 1200-1500 kg/cubic meter, which not only had high production efficiency, but also had good product quality. The price of an ordinary bar-making machine is 17,000 yuan, but it implies a very high cost of late maintenance and missed work; while the price of Fusheng bar-making machine is 58,000 yuan, which saves more than 38,000 yuan of electricity and nearly 10,000 yuan of labor cost.

Highlights of Carbon Industry

In 2004, the first set of carbon-making equipment independently developed by Fusheng Carbon Industry was put into production, and Li Guande's business had a major turnaround. Its mechanized carbon products began to be sold to Asian neighbouring countries with barbecue eating habits such as Japan and Korea.

In fact, in recent years, due to the national forest protection policy, many of the original charcoal plants have stopped production or changed production, China's charcoal market began to form a situation of short supply. At present, the domestic demand for charcoal in chemical and metallurgical industries is also 6 million tons.

In the market with uneven quality, the high-quality products of Fusheng Carbon Industry have been in short supply. Other export products are settled at offshore prices, while the mechanism carbon of Fusheng Carbon Industry is settled at "offshore prices".
